Advanced Communication Skills Training

Based on the Connected© ACST, this highly rated, evidence-based, two-day course offers a unique setting in which to develop new skills and improve areas of difficulty, using expert actors and feedback.

The course uses a learner-led agenda and experiential approach to link intellectual knowledge with the emotional experience of the clinical encounter in skills development.  It  aims to review the foundations of communication skills in sensitive/clinical encounters in difficult situations with patients and families. 

This course is suitable for experienced CNSs and Chemo nurses who have previously had ESCT, SAGE&THYME and/or equivalent communication skills trainings and are dealing with complex communication challenges in difficult situations with patients and families 

Non-UCLH applications: As staff from other trusts are unable to provide an internal budget code a refundable security deposit of £50 must be paid to reserve a place on the course (refunds are initiated the day after the course).

Cancellation Policy

• A £50 security deposit is payable at the point of booking
•  £100 administration fee will apply for non-attendance or cancellation within 15 working days of the course
• This fee will be waived if a suitable substitute is nominated to attend on the specified date
• Fees will be taken from the security deposit
• Applications submitted without the security deposit will not be accepted
