Advanced Male Urethral Catheterisation Course


A single day course covering the principles of use and basic applications of a new Urethral Catheterisation Device (UCD) for the management of  difficult or failed standard Urethral Catheterisation. Designed for Nurses and doctor already familiar with standard catheterisation skills, but who would like to expand to Advanced Male Urethral Catheterisation skills. 

The faculty of leading Urologists and nurses will explain the history and theoretical basis to understand the causes of difficult Urethral Catheterisation prior to the practical workshop with hands-on training how to use the UCD.


Course Objectives:

  • To understand the development and rationale behind the UCD.
  • Gain confidence in managing difficult or failed Male Urethral Catheterisation
  • To be able to identify patients who need specialist intervention.
  • To gain experience in using the UCD.
