Course Title

6th UCLH Mental Capacity Act Conference

Overview

The conference aims to widen knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and its application to support professionals and to advocate for patients who may lack capacity in the acute settings. This year’s theme is on supported decision making and best interest decisions.

Subject expert speakers will discuss case laws and case studies to provide insight to the MCA and to discuss proposed changes to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).

This conference is specifically for staff who are involved in and responsible for applying the Mental Capacity Act and/or Deprivation of Liberty safeguards (proposal to be replaced by Liberty Protection Safeguards) for people who may lack capacity to make decisions for themselves.

As the invite extends across England & Wales, we would politely request that one representative per organisation attends

Please note that late comers will not be admitted until the running session is completed

We apologies in advance that there will be no admission without an invite

Any issues signing up please do contact sonny.savage@nhs.net or malorie.bantala-nzewo@nhs.net
