Course Objectives

  • Understand the difference between leadership and management
  • Obtain insight and awareness of the NHS Leadership Qualities Framework
  • Explore personal leadership impact
  • Develop the ability to give and receive feedback
  • Examine the role of teams nad personal contribution as a leader
  • Introduction to leadership approaches and theories
  • Practice the role of coachin in leadership
  • Develop increased curiosity concerning self-awareness and emotional intelligence

Who can attend

The Leadership and Management Course is a two day course for:

  • Foundation Doctors in Year 2
  • Core Medical/Surgical and Dental Trainees
  • Registrars
  • Associates
  • Fellows

Further details

Courses will be held at the UCLH Education Centre, 250 Euston Road, London, NW1 2PG unless stated otherwise. Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the course.

Some parts of the course will be filmed with footage reviewed by the group during the course to provide the opportuity for further learning and reflection. Cosent from attendees will be requested as part of their application.


Course fees

Applicants are able to pay for themselves via cheque provided with their application form. Alternatively they can pay via credit/debit card through the online payment facility here.

Where applicants will be funded by their departments, they are able to provide invoice details for their department.

For UCLH medical applicants with available study leave funding, course fees can be charged directly against an individuals' study leave entitlement.
